“Jackass” alum Bam Margera was arrested for drunken driving over the weekend in California.
The DUI arrest was made by the California Highway Patrol early Sunday morning after Margera, 38, slowed his vehicle down to chat with officers who had already stopped another driver, TMZ reported.
Authorities then made Margera pull over after smelling alcohol, and arrested him shortly after.
The report did not specify where the arrest took place, but the California Highway Patrol confirmed to the Daily News that Margera’s arrest was handled by the central Los Angeles division. The Central Los Angeles office’s public relations officer was not immediately available for comment.
Margera left jail after making $15,000 bail on Sunday afternoon, according to celebrity gossip site.
The arrest comes two weeks after Margera welcomed his first child with wife his Nicole Boyd.
Margera has been open about his past issues with sobriety, and once revealed on the TV series “Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn” that he turned to binge drinking after his former “Jackass” co-star Ryan Dunn died in a drunk-driving accident in 2011.
Sunday’s arrest is his first DUI.
Margera and Boyd now live in Spain. The TV star rose to fame on “Jackass” in the early 2000s and continued to earn a following as the star of his own spinoff show, “Viva La Bam,” as well as on a series about his first marriage to Missy Rothstein called “Bam’s Unholy Union.”
