Lancaster Co. man shot by burglars inside his home

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A Lancaster County man was shot after returning home from work shortly after midnight Thursday.

Officials with the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says it happened at the man’s home on Kings Circle just outside of city limits.

The victim was still in his car when one of the burglars fired shots at time, officials say. He was struck by a bullet and drove himself to the hospital for treatment.

It is unclear what the burglars stole from the house. Officials say no one has been taken into custody but deputies are following “very strong leads.”
