Rated Red executives describe the company as the voice of Heartland millennials: fast, fun, smart and gritty, with a lot of heart.

Rated Red is a news and lifestyle digital video channel made for and by the Heartland. Headquartered in Nashville, far from the bright lights of New York and Los Angeles, Rated Red is the first brand Heartland millennials can call their own. Within Complex Networks, with unparalleled reach to millennials and Gen Z, Complex Networks offers a portfolio of video-first brands positioned to serve diverse audiences, Rated Red being one of them.

Rated Red is a joint venture between Verizon and Hearst. In only two years, the company has grown to reach an audience of 59 million monthly users with more than 170 million video views per month.

The company has created a new video series called "[Heart]land," which brings to light an issue currently facing the local community and then introduces you to the hard-working people and organizations trying to resolve these problems. In the first episode, the series features Nashville nonprofit Cul2vate to learn how they're engaging poverty at the point of hunger and creating opportunities for future full-time employment.

One employee said of working at Rated Red that they have never had a better job in their career.

“Working at Rated Red has allowed me to take new ideas and bring them to life. I am constantly putting out work that I am proud to say millions of people see on a daily basis. Not only do I get a chance to write and produce content that I care about, I get the chance to be in front of the camera as well. Without Rated Red, I would not have been given the chance to be on screen and produce my own pieces.”

Rated Red offers a competitive benefits package, including 401(k), health insurance and paid time off. Plus, all the LaCroix employees can drink. Rated Red provides a unique work environment for Nashville's most talented creative minds.

“I love my job because I get paid well to do not just what I love, but my superiors are always encouraging me and my co-workers to take advantage of the opportunities here and step beyond our job titles to try new things, put new things on our resume and that our job descriptions do not define us. The result has been in an efficient, well-oiled content machine with a Wild West attitude where anything can work,” another employee added.
