If you think you can get away with theft in video games, think again.
Earlier this week, a Guild Wars 2 player named DarkSide was caught for using a cheat program to teleport into buildings, kill powerful characters and make off with any loot that dropped.
The player was reported to developer ArenaNet, which then took control of the player's character.
Under the developer's grasp, the character was stripped of its valuable armour and forced to run off a bridge to its death.
DarkSide has also been banned from the game, according to The Guardian.
The humiliation and execution, which can be watched in the video above, was reportedly witnessed by 325,000 people.
Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns was named Game of the Show at this year's EGX Rezzed event in London.
