GARDEN GROVE – A 24-year-old motorist was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of drunken driving for crashing his vehicle into a wrought iron fence in Garden Grove. His passenger had what were described as non-life threatening injuries.
Officers dispatched at 2:16 a.m. to the 10900 block of Acacia Parkway found Quang Phuong Nguyen, of Garden Grove, lying on the ground near his vehicle, said Garden Grove police Lt. Carl Whitney.
Nguyen, whose condition was not immediately known, was detained at the scene by police. Paramedics rushed his passenger to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Whitney said.
Nguyen’s vehicle had struck a wrought iron fence and an apartment’s rear patio area. No residents at the apartment were injured, according to police.
