SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – A Springdale suspect tried to kick in a man’s door on Aug. 26 at 10:16 p.m., but he left after being given a beer, authorities say.

Andrew Brown, 36, was arrested and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on suspicion of residential burglary, assault on a family member, disorderly conduct and public intoxication, according to a preliminary report.

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 19000 block of Ramer Road in Springdale to deal with a disturbance. The caller said that Brown was trying to kick in his front door, the report states.

While on the way to the residence, authorities were informed that Brown also broke a window on the house and was trying to pull someone out of the residence, according to the report.

Shortly before the authorities arrived, Brown left the home after being given a beer, the report states.

Deputies arrived at Brown’s residence at 10:35 p.m. (he lives next door to the victim) and were invited in, according to the report.

Inside, they found Brown sitting on the couch and drinking a beer. Several empty beer cans were sitting on the coffee table in front of him, and he appeared to be “very intoxicated,” the report states.

He had blood on his hands, right arm and shirt. First responders came and looked over Brown’s injuries, determining that he didn’t need medical attention, according to the report.

Brown admitted to drinking and going next door. He said he would pay for anything he broke, the report states.

A deputy went next door where the incident occurred and spoke with the owner of the home. There was broken glass in the front yard and blood on the porch, according to the report.

The home owner said that Brown was at the residence earlier (the home belongs to Brown’s mother and stepfather), and he was asked to leave because he was drunk and arguing. Brown later returned, broke the window and attempted to kick in the front door. His mother and stepfather said they were both fearful when Brown was on their porch, the report states.

Brown was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he is being held on a $3,500 bond. His next hearing is scheduled for Friday (Aug. 29), according to the report.
