Actors Patrick Stewart and Jason Mewes, and director Eli Roth are all working on film projects in Portland right now.

Here's a round up of what these busy guys are working on.

Patrick Stewart was first spotted at a Timbers game at Providence Park on Friday night. But it looks like the "Star Trek" actor is sticking around Portland for a little while. According to this exclusive report from The Wrap on Tuesday, Patrick Stewart has joined the cast of Jeremy Saulnier's crime thriller “Green Room" which also stars Anton Yelchin (best known for his work as "Chekov" on the most recent reboot of the Star Trek franchise and whose sighting in Portland was first reported by GoLocalPDX here). According to The Wrap, "Stewart will play Darcy Banker, the unflinching and industrial leader of a ferocious white supremacist fiefdom based in the Pacific Northwest." The film is being produced by Neil Kopp.

Jason Mewes, of "Clerks" and "Jay and Silent Bob" fame, has started work on a role vacated earlier this year by Edward Furlong on "Deet N' Bax Save The World." Billed as a "Stoner Action Comedy about Sex, Guns, Weed & Salmon" the plot is about two "loveable losers—Deet & Bax—best friends & struggling weedpreneurs."  The film, which is currently in production in Portland and is directed by Diablo Dean, has retained at least one of its original cast members, Nicholas Cage's son, Weston Cage. Oddly enough, Noble Rot Chef (and GoLocalPDX contributor) Leather Storrs is listed in the credits of this film playing a character going by the name of "Glen."

"Hostel" director, Eli Roth, who was in town this summer for the Portland Film Festival, is the executive producer on a project that started principal photography in Portland this week. The Wrap also has the skinny on this one too. According to the report Roth  has returned to Portland to executive produce a reboot of one of his first films: “Cabin Fever." This version will be shot from the exact same script that Roth directed 13 years ago. Stars in the film to currently keep an eye out for around town: “Teen Wolf's” Gage Golightly, Dustin Ingram (“Paranormal Activity 3”), Samuel Davis (TV's “From Dusk Till Dawn”), Matthew Daddario (“Delivery Man”) and Nadine Crocker (“Deadgirl”).
