Snow chances diminish this evening and end by early Saturday, but the cold weather will continue through Saturday.

(Plain Dealer)

AKRON, Ohio - At times today, looking outside your window has been like looking into a just-shaken snow globe, which would be nice if we weren't already into spring.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland is reporting light snow is falling across much of the Akron area, but it is melting shortly after falling to the ground, so accumulations should be minimal. It is more of an annoyance than a potential hazard.

Chances for snow end by late morning Saturday, but more precipitation - this time rain - is possible Sunday night and Monday. More chances for rain come Tuesday and Wednesday night into Thursday to welcome in April, but temperatures will be warm enough that snowflakes will not be an issue.

At 3 p.m., National Weather Service radar showed the light snow falling across most of Northeast Ohio, with a heavier concentration in the Buffalo area and scattered precipitation across southeastern Michigan and much of Indiana.

Temperatures today barely hit the low 30s, and highs will remain around 30 degrees Saturday before climbing to the mid-40s Sunday and Monday, near 50 degrees Tuesday and the mid-50s Wednesday and Thursday. The temperature at 3 p.m. was 27 with light snow at Akron-Canton Regional Airport and 28 with light snow at Akron Fulton International Airport.
