(ANSA) - ROME - The ''Wizard of Czech cinema'', Karel Zeman, in
the spotlight in Milan. From today until August 9, the famous
film director who's widely considered the father of special
effects in filmmaking, will be featured in an exhibition hosted
by Spazio Oberdan in Milan. Zeman's works have amazed the world
since the 50's, combining traditional scenes with actors in the
flesh and animated elements, puppets and special effects. The
programme includes, therefore, the four major films made by the
film-maker: ''Baron Munchausen'', ''Captain Nemo's boys'',
''Journey to Prehistory'' and ''An Invention for Destruction'',
the opening event film, just restored, which brought him
international fame. Thanks to this movie, the Czech director won
the Grand Prix at the International Film Festival in Brussels
Expo 1958. After almost 60 years, it is not by chance that the
film will be screened in Milan, during another Universal
Exhibition.(ANSA).
