Prep roundup: Roosevelt boys beat Central
Pierce Mriden scored 18 points and Taryn Christion 15 as Roosevelt defeated Rapid City Central 52-45 in boys basketball Saturday in Rapid City.
Roosevelt trailed 32-25 at halftime but outscored the Cobblers 27-13 in the second half, including 13-2 in the fourth quarter.
Roosevelt had only eight turnovers to 12 for Central and was 8-for-15 on free throws. Central (6-6) did not make a free throw in only three attempts.
Josh Dotson scored 16 points and Noah Fenske 11 for the Cobblers (6-6).
The Rough Riders completed a 2-0 Rapid City trip after defeating Stevens 44-43 in overtime Friday night. Roosevelt (8-3), tied for fourth in Class AA rankings, is host to Watertown on Tuesday.
