FALL CREEK, Wis. — New Jersey-based Schuman Cheese is cutting 51 jobs at a Fall Creek factory due to increased automation.
The company is installing two new pieces of machinery for its cheese-slicing operations at the Imperia Foods facility at 120 Brickyard St. in coming months.
This prompts the elimination of 15 positions immediately and another 36 jobs over the next two months, according to a notice the company sent last week to the state Department of Workforce Development.
The notice released Monday to the public stated the company will ensure all affected employees receive earned wages and benefits at the time of their termination.
