Gun blasts causing internet, phone outages in Oran, Mo. area

ORAN, MO (KFVS) - Shotgun blasts are causing internet and phone outages in Oran, Missouri. Crews from the SEMO Electric Co-Op have made repairs to four fiber optic lines since July 4.
Loyd Rice works for the company. He believes the damage is caused by people who are illegally shooting at birds.
He doesn’t think whoever is responsible is aiming for the wires, but he says it is costing money and man hours.
