Oak Creek 2018 Winter Parking, Snow Removal Guidelines

We don't want you to get a ticket! Here are snow clearing guidelines and winter parking rules for Oak Creek. (and when they start).

OAK CREEK, WI -- Thanksgiving has come and gone, and it looks like the snow is here to stay. In Oak Creek, that means winter parking and snow removal guidelines are either here or are right around the corner.

Winter parking begins in Oak Creek on December 1 and runs until April 1. During this time, there is no parking allowed on the streets in the City of Oak Creek during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday, 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
  • Saturday and Sunday, 2:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Permission may be granted by the Police Department (on a day-to-day basis) for exceptions on this restriction during emergencies, if a vehicle becomes disabled, or if there is an overnight guest. Please contact the Police Department at (414) 762-8200 to obtain permission.

Snow Clearing

With winter weather once again upon us, please note this important reminder of the City ordinance requiring prompt snow and ice removal from public sidewalks across property frontages. Section 6.24 of the Oak Creek Municipal Code outlines that abutting properties are required to remove snow and ice from the sidewalks across their frontage within 24 hours after the snow and ice has ceased to fall or accumulate thereon.

Non-compliance could result in the property owner being issued a citation with monetary penalty and/or being assessed the costs of the City coordinating the snow and ice removal.
