RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – With weekly unemployment claims dropping across North Carolina and hiring activity surging throughout the U.S., the Triangle’s job market is seeing a boost with thousands of job openings continue to be posted across the region. Several of the major boards report 40,000 or more.

New unemployment claims are steadily declining in North Carolina, with initial claims dropping from 5,150 to 4,338 in the week ended June 12—even as claims rose unexpectedly on a national level in the same reporting period.

WRAL TechWire is tracking the Triangle’s job trends as the region continues its economic recovery. Our weekly Jobs Report compiles the latest information from the region’s top job boards, offering a breakdown of how many jobs are posted, which companies are hiring and for what positions. We’ve also included upcoming job fairs, student-centric resources and a list of Twitter accounts that track local job openings.
