Sneak peek at the 'Gold Rush' season finale: Will Oregon's Todd Hoffman strike it rich?

Oregon's Todd Hoffman, right, with his father, Jack Hoffman, in Season 5 of "Gold Rush."

After another season of digging for gold, encountering obstacles, overcoming obstacles, and all of it narrated by that guy with the booming, macho voice, "Gold Rush" airs the Season 5 finale tonight.

We've seen Oregon's Todd Hoffman and Dave Turin figure out how to work together; whippersnapper Parker Schnabel itching to stake his own claim; and fought to stay awake as Tony Beets and his crew keep trying to get that gigantic antique dredge......zzzzzzzzz.

What? Oh, sorry, I dozed off there, thinking about Tony and that boring dredge.

Anyway, it all comes to a close tonight, with three hours of "Gold Rush" programming.

Things kick off at 8 p.m., with a special episode of "The Dirt," the behind-the-scenes chat show. Executive producer Christo "good hair" Doyle will sit down with all three of the mining crew honchos to talk about the season.

Then, at 9 p.m., the two-hour "Gold Rush" Season 5 finale airs, promising more drama way up north, and, probably, more boring blather about Tony and the dredge.

Here's a promo for the finale:

According to the Discovery Channel episode description, here's what to expect:

"In the season finale, with the Klondike winter closing in, Parker Schnabel faces mutiny when he announces one last push for 400 ounces. The Hoffman crew gets the largest dozer in the Klondike to secure land for next season and it's hell or high water as Tony Beets has one last shot at getting his 75-year-old dredge mining for gold. Following the finale, Todd, Parker and Tony come together on the 'Gold Rush' after show to react to the exciting end of the season."
