Patrick Mahomes has yet to win a Super Bowl, but his record-setting MVP season in 2018 is already inspiring Chiefs fans to take some pretty extraordinary measures to show their devotion.

On Monday night during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Kimmel took a moment to spotlight one Chiefs fan who apparently went even farther than most, spinning around and lifting up his shirt to reveal a ‘CHAMP STAMP’ of Mahomes permanently etched into his lower back.

“Would you mind showing us what you’ve got emblazoned on your body? Now, this is the kind of loyalty you’ve already inspired there,” Kimmel told Mahomes.

“Oh my gosh,” Mahomes replied. “That is awesome.”

The fan, it turns out, is David Leach, a Chiefs die-hard who now lives in Los Angeles, and who lost a bet with his friends in 2017. (He incorrectly bet that the Chiefs would never draft a quarterback in the first round, according to Fox 4 Kansas City. Mahomes was picked tenth overall in the first round of the 2017 NFL draft.)

“I know they’ve been tweeting and tagging you, man, and it’s not complete unless you sign it,” Leach said.

“We’ll do that later,” Kimmel interjected, adding to Mahomes, “if you want to.”

Thankfully for Leach, his ink ultimately went up in value—if only for a day. After the commercial break, Mahomes was shown signing the tattoo, as Kimmel cracked that it would be the "saddest thing ever" if Mahomes failed to win a Super Bowl.

“Hopefully," Mahomes said, "we can win a couple."
