The third annual Roots Fest returns in April with some new acts and some familiar charm.

This year’s headlining act is Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors, an Americana band from Memphis and East Nashville in Tennessee that has since released four studio albums and one live cut since forming  in 2006.

Other acts, as announced Friday, are American Aquarium, Courtney Patton, Jason Eady, Joshua Ray Walker and Adam Hood, a Nashville performer and recording artist who lives in Northport and has performed at each Roots Fest to date.

“We had a vision three years ago to create a music festival that will bring people from all ages and backgrounds together for one day in Tuscaloosa to enjoy wonderful food, community and world class music,” said founder and Local Roots food truck owner Dustin Spruill. “It is amazing to see the support from the local community and our dreams becoming a reality.”

Set for April 27 at Government Plaza in downtown Tuscaloosa, admission is free.
