Air Force sergeant charged with soliciting a minor for sex in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, NC (WECT) - A North Carolina-based Air Force sergeant has been charged with soliciting a minor for sex.

According to a news release, the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office conducted an operation Thursday to catch predators who solicit minors for sex.

Officials say an undercover officer posed as a 15-year-old female and through text messages arraigned to meet Air Force Technical Sergeant Michael Joe Wills, of Goldsboro, at a motel in Fayetteville. Wills serves at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

He agreed to pay $150 for one hour of sex, officials say.

Detectives arrested Wills when he arrived at the motel and charged him with solicitation of a child by computer for sex and patronize a minor prostitute.

He was booked in the Cumberland County Jail under a $100,000 bond.
