MIDDLETOWN, CT — A new Christmas movie starring Denise Richards, Patrick Muldoon and TV icon Barbara Eden, recently wrapped up filming in Middletown and nearby towns. “My Adventures With Santa” filmed at two locations in Middletown and shot scenes in Cromwell, Meriden and Portland. While filming has concluded in the area, crews will return next month for additional shots, according to producer David Gere.

“We resume shooting ‘wintery’ exteriors in late December, hoping to capture sequences with snow or we will be blowing snow in the colder temperature,” Gere said.

Gere, a Cromwell native, has shared several behind-the-scenes photos of the movie shoot in Middletown with us. Filming took place at a historic home, located at 455 East Street in Middletown, which recently hit the market. The home was originally built in 1786 and has been owned by just two families in 232 years and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Filming also took place at 108 Meadowood Drive, which served as the family home for Richards and Muldoon with their kids.

“My Adventures With Santa” is joint effort from Universal and Los Angeles based Hollywood Media Bridge with CT based Shadow | Vale Productions (David Gere and his producing partner Chelsea Vale.)

The Connecticut Office of Film, Television & Digital Media has supported this new series of productions with the tax incentive program in a partnership with Gere’s other production hub, CT Film Works.

Jamie Luner, of “Melrose Place” fame, also stars in the film, along with Richards, Muldoon and Eden.

The story centers on a family working together to solve a mystery surrounding a magical snow globe through the special lessons surrounding the meaning of Christmas. The movie is directed by Brian Skiba.

Producers are David Gere, Chelsea Vale and Binh Dang, who is from the LA based Hollywood Media Bridge Office. The Executive Producer is Oscar and Emmy Winner Phillip B. Goldfine.

Gere said this marks the second of a five-picture deal to shoot in Connecticut. The first was a Navy Seals action film for Netflix, shot this past June at the abandoned Cedarcrest Hospital in Newington.

“My Adventures With Santa” will come out for the holiday season in October 2019. An announcement for a Connecticut-based premiere will be made around that time, according to Gere.
