Festival celebrates culture of Pacific Islands

The annual Pacific Islander Festival returns to Mission Bay in celebration of the indigenous people of Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia with dancing, singing, music, food, history, language, attire, and the crowning of Miss PIFA (Pacific Islander Festival Association). A celebration of the traditional cultures, ancient history and values of the people of each location, the weekend includes a procession, introduction of colors, singing of the national anthem, church service and plenty of performances.
