Country Music Hall of Famer Loretta Lynn took a nasty fall on New Year’s Day and landed in the hospital with a broken hip.

“American music icon Loretta Lynn is recovering from a fractured hip after a fall while at home,” her official Facebook announced Monday.

“She is doing well and thanks all her fans for their thoughts and prayers.”

Lynn’s sister, Crystal Gayle, said the singer is “in good spirits and is doing as well as can be expected with this type of injury.”

The 85-year-old singer’s family has a nefarious theory as to the cause of the fall: her new puppy.

“We don’t really know if she was chasing after the puppy or what, but she slid and fractured her hip,” daughter Patsy told People.

“We blame the puppy! Though the puppy brings smiles, so there’s that.”

The “Coal Miner’s Daughter” singer suffered a stroke in May, delaying the release of her new album, “Wouldn’t It Be Great.”
