Sharon Osbourne admitted she would do anything for love.
“The Talk” host revealed Wednesdayduring “Secret Week” that when she was 27-years-old and not yet married to now-husband Ozzy Osbourne that she took a knife to her wrist while drinking to show how much she cared about him.
“I’ve never discussed it out of embarrassment of how stupid I was at the time to do such a thing to myself,” Osbourne said.
“I was 27, I was just going out with Ozzy at the time … and when we first got together, we would drink a lot together,” she explained of when she was touring with the Black Sabbath rocker.
“We had a session of partying … and it’s about 4 in the morning and he says to me, ‘How much do you really love me? ‘… And I’m saying, ‘I’d do anything for you, anything, I absolutely adore you … I’d give my life for you.'”
The 61-year-old TV personality then admitted the shocking confession that she physically hurt herself to prove her loyalty and ended up hospitalized.
“I’m like, ‘I’ll show you how much I love you, I’d die for you’ … so I went to a room service table … and there was a steak knife,” she said. “I get the knife and I’m like, ‘I love you so much’ and slash, slash, slash on my wrist.'”
She then showed the gasping audience a close up of her scars.
“I think we better call an ambulance,” she recalled telling her love. “I got very sober, very quickly.”
Osbourne explained that she was just being a “dramatic drunk,” but the people in the ambulance took it as an attempted suicide rather than a drunken mistake.
“They put me on lockdown,” she admitted.
“These scars are a big embarrassment, I tell everyone I was attacked by a dog.”
“Dirty streak knife, drunk and trying to being dramatic and you know what the scars don’t go away. They stay with you … It’s a reminder to us all.”
