ACCOMAC, Va. (WAVY) — Firefighters responded to a construction fire at Valley Proteins Inc., on the grounds of the Perdue Farms Processing Plant, in Accomack County on Friday.
According to Parksley Volunteer Fire Co. Chief Willie Kirkpatrick, the fire happened around 2:10 p.m. The Accomack County Department of Public Safety and seven area fire departments responded to the fire.
There were no injuries reported and the fire did not cause any major damage. Kirkpatrick says the fire was believed to be caused by welding equipment being used for construction.
