When it comes to style, Victoria Beckham is always polished and done-up. (She didn’t earn her Posh Spice moniker for nothing!) The designer’s day-to-day wardrobe is complete with chic suits and elegant day dresses, often plucked from her own ready-to-wear collections. But it seems life under lockdown has transformed even a fashion plate such as Beckham.
Today the British designer posted an Instagram of herself at home plugging away on a laptop. “My warm weather working from home wardrobe,” Beckham shared in the caption. If you think Beckham is wearing sleek two-piece suits to do business at home, think again. The star wore two unexpected pieces instead: denim cut-off shorts and a pair of smiley-face Drew House slippers (yes, from Justin Bieber’s line—possibly borrowed them from one of her streetwear-obsessed sons?). Lest we forget, this is a woman who is rarely seen without her signature skyscraper heels. “I was completely shocked and devastated, because I was wearing flat shoes,” she once said of a paparazzi picture in which she is sans stilettos. Yet here she is, slipping into cozy house slippers.
So, has Beckham ditched her towering peep-toe booties for good? The more casual-minded aesthetic is certainly new territory for Beckham. Something tells us she will be running back to heels the second normal life resumes again. But for now, comfort looks good on her.
