No. 2 Texas A&M Equestrian falls to No. 8 Georgia, 12-8

BISHOP, Ga. – No. 2 Texas A&M Equestrian fell at No. 8 Georgia, 12-8, Saturday at the UGA Equestrian Complex.

With the loss, the Aggies fall to 6-3 (1-3 SEC) on the season, while Georgia moves to 3-4 (2-2 SEC).

In the day’s first event, Equitation over Fences, Caroline Dance topped Hayley Mairano, 88-84, to earn Most Outstanding Player honors. Chenelle closed out the event with an 87-86 victory over Ali Tritschler.

The Aggies won Horsemanship, 3-2, to even the meet at the half. Sarah Orsak topped Lexie Lane, 75.5-75, before Katie Conklin edged out Taylor Burgess, 71-70. Alex Albright knocked off Sara lewis, 76-72.5.

In Equitation on the Flat, Rebekah Chenelle secured the lone point for the Aggies, topping Maddy Darst, 73-71.

In Reining, Kalee McCann defeated Courtney Blumer, 73.5-70, as Marissa Harrell toppled Julia Spreng, 71-70.

The Aggies return to action Feb. 15 at Sweet Briar in a Hunter Seat only competition before returning home Feb. 16 against UC Davis at 11 a.m. at the Hildebrand Equine Complex. Admission to the meet is free.
