More jobs are being cut at Walmart headquarters in Bentonville.

KNWA reached out to two separate sources who both say changes are always being made at the home office.

The Wall Street Journal was first to report that hundreds of jobs will be slashed before the end of the month. The Wall Street Journal says they spoke to people familiar with the situation at Walmart and add cuts will take place both at headquarters and with regional personnel that support stores. According to the WSJ, cuts are expected mainly in the Human Resources Department, but other departments could be impacted as well. The WSJ’s source says the Human Resources Department is a large team that some senior executives believe should be more efficient, or whose jobs could be handled by outside consultants.

We reached out to Walmart. They gave us a statement saying, “As we’ve previously shared, we are always looking for ways to operate more efficiently and effectively. While we continually look at our corporate structure, we have not made any announcements.  Like any organization, we make decisions based upon what’s best for our business and the customers we serve.”

Back in September, the company cut about 7,000 back-office jobs in its stores and in 2015, hundreds of workers were laid off at the Bentonville headquarters.

Walmart is not confirming any layoffs at this time.
