NEW YORK (CNN) -- Jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard has been a busy guy. Last year, he was voted Downbeat magazine's trumpeter of the year, was nominated for a Grammy and composed the score for the Spike Lee film "Bamboozled." That's the ninth film on which he and Lee have worked together. (He also composed the music for this year's "The Caveman's Valentine," among other films.)

Now Blanchard, 39, has a new album out: "Let's Get Lost," a collection of jazz standards written by Jimmy McHugh.
"I wanted to do an album of his music because when I started to do some research into some of these songs that I love, I didn't realize that he was the guy who wrote all of these things," Blanchard tells Bill Tush of CNN's "Showbiz Today Reports."
Among McHugh's songs are "I'm in the Mood for Love," "On the Sunny Side of the Street," and "I Can't Give You Anything but Love."
Blanchard had some top-notch help in putting the record together. Guest stars include vocalists Cassandra Wilson, Dianne Reeves and Jane Monheit and vocalist-pianist Diana Krall.
Blanchard's trio was joined by Monheit for a special performance of "I Can't Give You Anything but Love" at the Hudson Hotel's penthouse terrace in
New York for this week's "Showbiz Sessions."
