ASHEVILLE, NC (WSPA) — A police officer and another person were hurt in a morning crash.
The Asheville Police Department said the officer was off-duty and in his personal vehicle when he crashed into a van that ran a stop sign. It happened early Monday morning on Newfound Road at Dix Creek Road.
The officer was identified as Travis Jones.
A spokesperson for the police department said Jones and one of the three people in the van were taken to the hospital.
Their injuries are not life threatening.
Troopers are investigating the crash.
