Baltimore-based Marks Thomas Architects says it will merge into Richmond, Va.-based Moseley Architects.

Details of the merger were not disclosed, though officials said the combined firm will operate under Moseley Architects’ existing governance structure and Marks Thomas leaders will join as board members and shareholders.

The officials for the firms, which have collaborated previously, said a merger allow the firms to provide a “greater depth of resources.”

The combination gives Moseley, which provides architecture, engineering, interior design, high performance design and construction administration services worldwide, a Maryland location. Marks Thomas, a woman-owned business that dates to 1967, provides planning, architecture, interior design and sustainability services on the East Coast.
