Lenny Kravitz has the rare ability to stay friends with his exes.
Kravitz, who was previously married to Lisa Bonet and engaged to Nicole Kidman, opened up about his past relationships and current status in Mr. Porter, telling the publication that he and Bonet remain “best friends.”
“We were mirror images of each other, male and female,” he said of Bonet, who’s now married to Jason Momoa. “It was quite extraordinary.”
The “American Woman” rocker admitted he hasn’t found a love like that since.
“Not that. It will never be that. I was 21. She was 21. It’s that time when you are discovering yourself, your art. It’s a very romantic time in general,” he said. “I hope to have a great love again. I plan on it.”
Kravitz, 53, and Bonet, 50, share one child together, actress Zoë Kravitz, who recently starred alongside Kidman in the critically acclaimed HBO series “Big Little Lies.”
“Nicole is amazing,” Kravitz said of his ex-fiancée. “Zoe and she hadn’t spent time together since she was younger, since Nicole and I were together, so [working together] was great.”
Now, Kravitz is enjoying the single life.
“I’ve been, like, really, really single for the last few months. I’m keeping it that way,” he shared. “They were the people for that time. Great love, great growth. But I’m waiting to meet that person. I’m waiting for the soul partner, the wife.”
