Customers of a downtown Port Huron jeweler are being told to file police reports if they had left jewelry with Rick Currie.

Port Huron Police Capt. Joe Platzer said customers of a local jeweler have reported about $250,000 worth of jewelry missing.

Rick Currie was evicted from his Huron Avenue location Saturday, and since then the police department has received more than 115 reports from customers who had left jewelry in his care.

Neither Currie nor the jewelry has been located.

Platzer said police are asking Currie to contact them. Currie can reach the criminal division by calling (810) 984-9711 or central dispatch at (810) 985-8115.

Anyone who knows of his whereabouts are also asked to contact police. Tips can be made through the CAPTURE hotline at (810) 987-6688 or through porthuronpolice.org.

Dan Deligianis, Currie's landlord, said he already has a new tenant lined up for the former home of Diana Sweet Shoppe at 307 Huron Ave. He has declined to say who that will be.

Currie moved to the Huron Avenue location in 2010.

"We have been your home town jewelers for over half a century," the website of Rick Currie Master Goldsmith reads. "We have withstood the test of time by nurturing our relationship with you, our client."

Platzer said customers who left jewelry at Currie's store are asked to call police or stop by the department.
