GUNTOWN, MS (WDAM) - A 27-year-old Hattiesburg man whose personal bio lists him as a minister of music, minister of students, and an evangelist has been arrested on sex charges involving a minor.

Jonathan Michael Jones is being held in the Lee County Jail on $30,000 bond following his arrest Wednesday on a charge of computer luring of a person under the age of 18 for lustful purposes.

Guntown Police Chief says Jones was arrested as part of a sting operation conducted by his department. Hall said Jones was attempting to meet a 15-year-old girl for sex.

According to his personal blog, Jones is completing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting Degree at USM and is employed at East Columbia Baptist Church.

Calls to the church have gone unanswered.
