Ariana Grande and SNL cast member Pete Davidson have suddenly split.

The 25-year-old Boca Raton singer and Davidson who got engaged early last summer after a brief courtship called off their engagement over the weekend and have decided to go their separate ways, according to TMZ.com.

Grande and Davidson met on “Saturday Night Live” two years ago when she was the musical guest. They began dating in May, shortly after her break up with rapper Mac Miller.

Grande and Davidson spent the summer celebrating their engagement in late night talk show interviews, tattoos (he got a tattoo of a black bunny mask inked under his ear) and public displays of affection at awards shows and in social media posts.

In August, she said her last name would officially be Grande-Davidson after they get hitched. But in the long term she wanted her name to be simply “Ariana.” She also named a song on her new “Sweetener’’ album after Davidson.

And last month, during the season premiere of “SNL”, he referenced Grande several times including during the “Weekend Update’’ segment when he told Colin Jost how he couldn’t believe that was engaged to the “No Tears Left To Cry” pop star.

“No one could believe it and I can’t believe it,’’ Davidson told Jost. “I get it. She’s the number one pop star in the world and I’m that guy from ‘SNL’ that everyone thinks is in desperate need of more blood.”

TMZ is reporting that Miller’s fatal overdose last month may have played a factor in the couple’s split.

Grande and Davidson haven’t publicly commented on their split.
