Valerio also led the way in the 3,200 meters for the Wolves, taking seventh and improving his seeded time by almost nine seconds at 9:57.83. He was followed by Sherwin and Hansen.

The Wolves’ lone entry in the long jump, senior Tommy Clark, jumped 17.01. The shot putters were led by senior David Martinez, followed by Russell Ferrrell, another senior, and junior Ty Alcorn.

In the discus, again with little opportunity to practice, sophomore Jacob Martinez threw 122-10 for ninth place followed by Ferrell, and Alcorn.

Head track coach Dan Hansen was pleased with the team’s performance, especially considering their competitors from Utah had the advantage, due to three more weeks of outside practice than the Wolves.
