Phoenixville Physics Squad Battles Against World's Best

Phoenixville was the only public high school in the prestigious tournament.

PHOENIXVILLE, PA --The Phoenixville Area High School physics team did the Phantoms proud at a recent tournament, holding their own against some of the most notable schools in the world.

The teams of six juniors and seniors battled against schools like Phillips Exter Academy and China’s top high school, Renmin University, according to a Times Herald report.

Phoenixville was the only Aemrican public high school in the prestigious United States Association for Young Physicists Tournament in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Ultimately, after several rounds of battles in which they even held the lead for a time, Phoenixville placed third.

Phoenixville will host next year’s competition at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia.
