Skeletal Remains Found In Gibsonton Identified

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the skeletal remains found in Gibsonton Oct. 3.

GIBSONTON, FL -- The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has identified the skeletal remains found in Gibsonton Oct. 3.

The sheriff's office said they are the remains of John Charles Jacobi III, 24. His last known address was on Wellman Drive in Riverview.

The remains were discovered by a maintenance worker at 8:48 a.m. on Oct. 3 at 11211 East Bay Road at the Bull Frog Creek Mobile Home Park in Gibsonton. Detectives and the coroner's office are still trying to determine the cause of death.

Jacobi had one arrest in Hillsborough County, a DUI in 2017.
