ST. CHARLES, IL – A 30-year-old Franklin Park woman faces a home invasion charge after she used a garden hoe to bust her way into a home in St. Charles last weekend, authorities said. Adilene Pimentel is also charged with two counts of criminal damage to property in connection with the Nov. 10 incident. Pimentel is accused of arming herself with the garden hoe and first damaging a vehicle at the home along Route 25 in uninincorporated St. Charles at about 12:15 p.m., Lt. Patrick Gengler, a spokesman for the Kane County Sheriff's Office, wrote in an e-mail.

She then used the garden hoe to strike the front door of the home, damaging the door and forcing it open, Gengler said. She then went into the breezeway of the home.

There were three people at home at the time. Authorities said Pimentel formerly had a friendship with the homeowner's adult daughter, according to police. The daughter was not home at the time.
