Camila Cabello is going to play Cinderella-ooh-na-na-na. The “Havana” singer is slated to make her big-screen acting debut starring in a movie “retelling” the fairy tale, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The music-oriented glass-slipper saga emerged from an idea by late-night talk-show host James Corden, the trade daily noted. Cabello, a 22-year-old Grammy nominee, will be “integrally involved” in the music for the film, according to the publication.
Variety reported that the movie is being fast-tracked by Sony, with Kay Cannon (“Blockers”) directing.
Details were scant. HuffPost didn’t immediately hear back from Sony or a Cabello rep. Cabello was silent on Twitter and Instagram about the princess gig as of Wednesday morning.
A 2015 Buena Vista/Disney live-action Cinderella remake grossed more than $543 million worldwide. It featured Lily James as Cinderella, the orphaned girl living with her evil stepmom and stepsisters.

Don’t ever play a certain game show or bet against James Holzhauer.
The 34-year-old Las Vegas family man is a respected professional sports gambler who won a record one-day sum on Tuesday’s “Jeopardy!”
Holzhauer’s take of $110,914 far surpassed the old record of $77,000 set by Roger Craig in 2010, the game show noted. He has amassed $244,365 so far on a four-day run.
According to HuffPost, The show tweeted highlights of his monster game, as he exploited a series of Daily Doubles while correctly answering (with a question, of course!) a bunch of other clues as well. In the Final Jeopardy! round, Holzhauer wrote “What is quantum leap?” in response to this answer: “Ironically, it’s a metaphor meaning a huge step forward, but this 2-word process only occurs on a subatomic scale.” Yep, he got it right and risked $38,314.
“Jeopardy!” noted that Ken Jennings owns the third-highest one-day total of $75,000 — a drop in the bucket of the $2.5 million the contestant earned in 2004 during a 74-game winning streak.
But Holzhauer is off to a good start.
He apparently was already making a good living wagering on sports. ESPN confirmed with several Vegas books that the Naperville, Ill., native, who has a math degree from the University of Illinois, is a respected gambler.
“I think my work is similar to an investment bank, except that I’m the analyst, trader, fund manager and day trader all into one,” he told the sports network. “I’m proud that I’ve found success in many different fields of sports betting, but the most important thing about my work is the freedom it gives me to travel and spend time with my family, which I would never have (with) a nine-to-five.”

Oprah Winfrey doesn’t like how Meghan Markle is being treated by some in the press.
The media mogul appeared on “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday to talk about her new partnership with Prince Harry, but she also spoke to co-anchor and best friend Gayle King about the Duchess of Sussex.
“I think she’s being portrayed unfairly,” Winfrey said of Markle. “I feel that if people really knew her, they would know that she is not only everything you perceive her as being — graceful and dynamic in holding that position — but that she just has a wonderful warm, giving, funny heart. I see all the crazy press around her, and I think it’s really unfair.”
King, who attended Markle’s star-studded baby shower in New York City, added that the duchess is “very kind.” Oprah attended the royal wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on May 19, 2018. She’s currently working on an Apple TV partnership with Prince Harry about mental health.
