Reese Witherspoon is not pregnant and she made sure to set the record straight on fake baby rumours doing the rounds.

Clapping back, Reese took to Instagram on Friday and poked fun at claims she and fellow actress Jennifer Garner are expecting. Spoiler alert: They’re not.

The Legally Blonde star chose to shut down the speculation with humour and mocked a US magazine that claimed Reese and Jennifer had ‘baby bombshells’ to drop.

Tagging Jen in her post, Reese joked: ‘Hey @jennifer.garner! Can we raise our imaginary babies together?’

But it didn’t stop there, oh no.

Sarah Michelle Gellar got in on the fun and replied: ‘Only if I get to imaginary baby sit,’ prompting Reese to say back: ‘Will you be the imaginary godmother?’

Clearly having too much fun with it all, Reese joked that she ‘wished someone had told her sooner’ when a fan playfully commented: ‘When you’re the last to know #imaginarycongrats.’

Another fan joked that ‘imaginary babies are the best to take care of’, with Reese adding: ‘Imaginary babies are perfect.’

We think she’s made her point.

The 42-year-old is mum to three children – she shares 19-year-old daughter Ava, who is literally the spitting image of her, and son Deacon, 15, with ex Ryan Phillipe, and son Tennessee, six, with husband Jim Toth.

Jennifer, meanwhile, shares two daughters – Violet, 13, and Seraphina, 10 – and son Samuel, seven, with her ex-husband Ben Affleck.

Ben and Jennifer married back in 2005, but later announced their separation ten years later in 2015. Their divorce was finalised in 2018.

Five months after their divorce was granted, Ben has revealed he ‘still loves’ Jennifer in an interview on NBC’s Today Show.

He was asked if he ‘still loves’ the 13 Going on 30 star and replied: ‘Of course, she’s wonderful. Somebody’s the mother of your kids, they’re going to be the most important, central person in your life, and that’s good.

‘She helps out a great deal with making sure that we co-parent in as good a way as possible.’
