NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An acting police chief in Central Arkansas was fired in 2017, reveals newly-released documents in the case obtained by KARK News.

In March of 2017, Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System Police took a theft report.

VA Police later found the suspect, a veteran, who they say admitted to breaking into a car and stealing money.

A police report shows officers told her if she gave the money back, no charges would be filed and her Probation Officer would not find out.

It was then, police documents show, that the former acting chief of police told the woman, ‘since you are not getting into trouble, what do I get out of the deal?’

Internal documents, that took nearly three months to obtain, show the former acting chief asked for oral sex and the veteran refused him. The former acting chief then said ‘find someone who can,’ according to the document.

The woman also says the former acting chief called her for one week straight, two or three times a day.

The report shows the former officer would track her appointment schedule and would find the veteran on campus.

Hospital officials say the woman did not want to file charges against the former acting chief.

VA officials released a statement Friday evening saying:

Consistent with our commitment to accountability at Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS), upon learning of the incident, we took quick action to protect the alleged victim and to fully investigate the allegation. This employee was separated from federal service on January 10, 2018.
