Not bad for a 14-year-old! Modern Family's Rico Rodriguez will earn a staggering $115,000 PER EPISODE if hit comedy continues to season eight

It's the hit comedy that is as popular now as it was when it started back in 2009.

And if Modern Family continues to bring in the viewers, one young star to benefit from the success of the show is Rico Rodriguez.

The 14-year-old actor, who plays Sofia Vergara's character's son Manny in the hilarious comedy, had his contract renegotiated last year to ensure that if the show continues to win the ratings battle, it will pay off for him when it comes to his bank balance.

The new contract, obtained by TMZ.com, shows that while Rico is currently earning an impressive $75,000 per episode for the current fourth season of the show, that number will significantly rise for each season that it continues.

Therefore, Rico will earn $85,000 per episode for season five, $95,000 per episode for season six and $105,000 per episode for the seventh season.

And if Modern Family is renewed for an eighth season, Rico will be bringing in a staggering $115,000 per episode.

In addition, if the show does get extended to eight seasons, Rico will be granted a $2,500-per-episode bonus if it reaches the minimum ratings requirement.

The contract also has a minimum episode requirement for Rico per season, ranging from 10 to 12 episodes.

But as the first three seasons each had 24 episodes, it looks like that Rico could potentially earn $2.8million by the time he reaches season eight.

Rico isn't the only child star to be benefitting financially from the continued success of the programme.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that 15-year-old Ariel Winter, who plays schoolgirl Alex Dunphy, has been awarded a new $6m contract to continue to star in the show.
