Puppies removed from unfit home

State Police have cited a woman after finding ten puppies in distress at her St. Johnsbury home.
Officers could not get in touch with Michaela Wilkie, 37, on July 5.
Because of the extreme heat that week, they decided to go into the home on Avenue D.
Officers removed the puppies and their mother, when they saw the home was not suitable.
Wilkie is charged with animal cruelty.
