TRIP: For a rather 'big' birthday in August, I celebrated with five family members in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. I had never been on vacation with my great-nephew, Oakley Bowyer, son of Justin Bowyer and Stephanie Adkins, who also shared the joy. The presence of sister, Jeannie Grieco and mother completed the blessing. It was a joy seeing Oakley's excitement when seeing the cabin and participating in things he never imagined.

CHUCKLE: An old train on a secluded railroad was chugging slowly through the countryside when it suddenly came to a dead stop. There was only one passenger in the car, a salesman riding the line for the first time. He asked the conductor why they had stopped. The conductor said, "There's nothing to worry about, sir. There's a cow on the track." In about 10 minutes, the train got under way again, but after chugging along for a few more miles, it again came to a halt. "There's a temporary delay," the conductor said. "We'll continue shortly." The frustrated salesman asked, "What's the problem now? Did we catch up to that cow again?"
