Dignity Run Motorcycle Event Brings Bikers Together to Support Alternatives, Inc.

Motorcycle riders will convene in Bridgewater on Sunday, October 16 for the annual Dignity Run ride to support Alternatives, Inc.

Motorcycle riders will convene in Bridgewater on Sunday, October 16 for the annual Dignity Run ride to support Alternatives, Inc., a community services agency that provides programs, services and housing for people with disabilities. Participants in the Dignity Run will follow nearly 60 miles of picturesque, winding, rural roads through Somerset and Hunterdon counties, starting and finishing at the Eagle Riders Club located at 300 Woodside Lane in Bridgewater.

Registration for the Dignity Run will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will enjoy a complimentary BBQ, a vendor alley and band performances by GoodWorks, Illegally Blind, and Scott Metaxas and Friends. The cost is $20 per person. Non-riders are also welcome at the Eagles Riders Club picnic grove.

“We appreciate all the riders, sponsors and guests of the Dignity Run for helping our clients live better lives in the community,” said Nancy Good, president of Alternatives.

Alternatives has a long history of assisting people with special needs gain their independence through programs and services. The agency was founded 37 years ago to help people with developmental disabilities learn the necessary skills to live in the community. Today, it still abides by that basic tenet, but is growing to address the urgent needs of thousands of individuals with diverse special needs whom are waiting for community residences or for in-home services.

The Dignity Run is sponsored by RE/MAX Classic Group Somerville, Knights of Fire Riding Club, Medimax Pharmacy, Unity Bank, Rollin’ Fast Cycle Sports, Williams Harley Davidson, Union Avenue Pharmacy, Cincinnati Lodge #3 Free & Accepted Masons, Clinton Honda, Double Crossed Riding Club and the Bridgewater Eagle Riders Club.
