KING GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Authorities say one person is dead and two others are injured after a three-vehicle crash in King George County.

The crash occurred at about 10:50 a.m. on Thursday. 

According to Virginia State Police, a 2016 Toyota Scion was traveling east on Route 3 when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2006 Nissan Altima and then struck head-on a westbound 2014 Chevrolet Silverado.

The driver of the Scion, Sara K. Preston, 35, of King George, Va., died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 63-year-old female resident of King George, VA., was treated at the scene for minor injuries. The driver of the Nissan, a 53-year-old male resident of Montross, Va., was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life threatening, injuries, VSP says. 

The crash remains under investigation.
