EUGENE, Ore. - For many brides, saying 'Yes' was the easy part. Now, hundreds of engaged couples have to say yes or no to vendors and merchants before their big day.

The Oregon Wedding Showcase kicked off the new year on Sunday in Eugene, displaying dresses, tuxedos, florists, food and goods from rental companies.

More than 70 vendors showcased their products or services to more than 500 engaged couples.

Judy Van Valkenberg, owner of the wedding showcase, says it's important for couples to have the one-on-one interaction with vendors.

"It's great to look at things online, but your wedding is not online," said Van Valkenberg. "You are going to be with those people and they are going to be there, supporting you on your wedding day. So you can have a good feeling for them, and they are going to be the people that you want with you and they are going to be helping you and all that."

Entry to the venue was $10, and the next expo will be in two weeks in Salem at the Oregon State Fairgrounds.
