A Colton man has been charged with murder after his neighbor’s body was found in a backyard, court records show.

Flavio Delgadillo, 24, was arrested earlier this week when detectives found the remains of Gary Lee Titus in the victim’s own backyard.

Titus had been missing and a concerned family member asked police to respond to his home in the 1600 block of North Jantzen Drive, officials said.

Colton police officials told the Press Enterprise that the victim lived alone in the home.

Detectives found a shallow grave and the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office was called to recover the remains.

According to the criminal complaint, Delgadillo used a knife to kill Titus.

It is unclear, however, what led to the death or when Titus was killed.

Delgadillo remains in custody on $1 million bail.
