Gov. Edwards signs dozens of bills into law

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - On Friday, May 25, Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards signed 79 bills into new laws.

The bills he signed are as follows:

  • ACT 318 – HB 435 Authorizes the regulation or prohibition of boat traffic in certain circumstances.
  • ACT 319 – HB 449 Enacts the Adoption Option Act providing for information on adoption to be conveyed pursuant to the Woman's Right To Know law.
  • ACT 320 – HB 466 Provides relative to court-appointed special advocates.
  • ACT 321 – HB 482 Provides relative to the release of a child from the custody of DPS&C.
  • ACT 322 – HB 484 Provides for a proposition election to authorize fantasy sports contests in Louisiana.
  • ACT 323 – HB 516 Provides relative to waterworks districts in Jefferson Davis Parish.
  • ACT 324 – HB 539 Provides for an expedited licensing process and associated fees for facilities and providers licensed by the La. Department of Health.
  • ACT 325 – HB 552 Provides relative to the duties of the registrar of voters relative to requests for copies of records of the registrar.
  • ACT 326 – HB 589 Provides relative to fees and costs of the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans.
  • ACT 327 – HB 591 Creates the Louisiana Small Business and Entrepreneurship Council.
  • ACT 328 – HB 598 Authorizes a local taxing authority to enter into advance payment agreements with certain property owners for payment of ad valorem taxes.
  • ACT 329 – HB 599 Authorizes the office of unemployment insurance administration to send an overpayment notice electronically or by first class mail.
  • ACT 330 – HB 616 Provides relative to foods and beverages, other than school breakfast or lunch, offered in public schools.
  • ACT 331 – HB 629 Provides for the creation of a municipal consortium.
  • ACT 332 – HB 663 Creates a commission to study the feasibility of consolidating the Washington Parish and Bogalusa school systems.
  • ACT 333 – HB 673 Provides relative to the Iberia Economic Development Authority.
  • ACT 334 – HB 682 Provides relative to elections of alcoholic beverages propositions.
  • ACT 335 – HB 699 Provides relative to jury polling after a verdict is returned.
  • ACT 336 – HB 746 Repeals requirement that the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education meet quarterly in New Orleans relative to the Recovery School District.
  • ACT 337 – HB 759 Provides relative to private actions with respect to the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law.
  • ACT 338 – HB 799 Provides relative to the disposition of abandoned crab traps.
  • ACT 339 – HB 800 Authorizes the secretary of the Department of Revenue to disclose certain taxpayer information to the state treasurer.
  • ACT 340 – HB 802 Provides relative to Gravity Drainage Districts in Calcasieu Parish.
  • ACT 341 – HB 892 Provides relative to the illegal carrying of certain knives.
  • ACT 342 – SB 6 Relative to system membership.
  • ACT 343 – SB 7 Corrects language regarding average final compensation..
  • ACT 344 – SB 11 Provides for certain eligible rollover distributions.
  • ACT 345 – SB 12 Provides for survivor benefits.
  • ACT 346 – SB 16 Provides for a special prestige license plate to bear the international symbol of accessibility and one for "Upside Downs".
  • ACT 347 – SB 18 Provides relative to the use of purple paint in lieu of "no trespassing" signs.
  • ACT 348 – SB 42 Provides relative to making a false police report that triggers a law enforcement response ("swatting").
  • ACT 349 – SB 49 Provides for family member visitation with offenders who have sustained serious injuries while in custody.
  • ACT 350 – SB 62 Re-creates entities transferred to or placed within the office of the governor.
  • ACT 351 – SB 70 Provides relative to permissible warrantless searches of the residences of defendants on probation or parole.
  • ACT 352 – SB 72 Provides relative to the execution of an order for protective custody and examination.
  • ACT 353 – SB 99 Extends legislative authority for the Louisiana Behavior Analyst Board.
  • ACT 354 – SB 101 Creates the Louisiana Sexual Assault Oversight Commission.
  • ACT 355 – SB 106 Provides relative to the duration of a disposition on a felony-grade adjudication.
  • ACT 356 – SB 111 Provides relative to the State Boxing and Wrestling Commission.
  • ACT 357 – SB 133 Provides relative to documents submitted to the Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
  • ACT 358 – SB 142 Re-creates the Department of State Civil Service and the statutory entities made a part of the department by law.
  • ACT 359 – SB 147 Provides relative to a defamation claim brought by an alleged perpetrator of sexual misconduct against the alleged victim.
  • ACT 360 – SB 156 Provides immunity from liability for person providing gratuitous emergency care to a minor or domestic animal.
  • ACT 361 – SB 166 Requires the National Human Trafficking Resource Center hotline information to be posted in additional locations.

  • ACT 363 – SB 177 Authorizes the legislative auditor to obtain certain information about employees with access to federal tax records of auditees.

  • ACT 382 – SB 361 Provides relative to the protection of computerized data that contains personal information and requires notification of data breaches.
  • ACT 383 – SB 366 Provides relative to visitation rights of grandparents and siblings.
  • ACT 384 – SB 372 Provides for Rural Grant Opportunity Program in the Statewide Flood Control Program.
  • ACT 385 – SB 384 Prohibits the commercial use of "mug shots" and other arrest records under certain circumstances.
  • ACT 386 – SB 415 Provides relative to the sale of excess immovable property by the Department of Transportation and Development.
  • ACT 387 – SB 422 Provides for the distribution of certain contractor fees to each accredited public university's and community college's school of construction management or construction technology.
  • ACT 388 – SB 473 Authorizes Louisiana Property Assistance Agency to make surplus bulletproof vests available for purchase to certain part-time and reserve peace officers under the same requirements as the vests are made available to certain full-time employees.
  • ACT 389 – SB 486 Creates the "Scotlandville Magnet High School" special prestige license plate.
  • ACT 390 – SB 506 Provides relative to the clinical laboratory personnel committee.
  • ACT 391 – SB 540 Provides relative to the Louisiana Cemetery Board.
  • ACT 392 – SB 558 Provides relative to incarcerated women.
  • ACT 393 – HB 573 Allows political subdivisions to perform integrated coastal projects through outcome-based contracting.
  • ACT 394 – HB 723 Provides for the award of attorney fees to a person making a public records request when the person prevails or prevails in part in a suit instituted by a public body or official.
  • ACT 395 – HB 317 Provides for changes to the election dates for certain Lawrason Act municipalities.
  • ACT 396 – HB 743 Provides for Revenue Sharing Distribution for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
