Nancy Streby

Nancy Streby, (City of Rice Lake and Apache Junction, AZ), entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 8, 2018, believing "For you are the child of God through faith in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:26. She was born in the "Windy City" on February 8, 1926, a fitting beginning to a life filled with adventures. At the age of 19 she attended the Minneapolis School of Art and Design, eventually returning to Duluth and working as a commercial artist and interior designer. She was an accomplished watercolor artist. Nancy was preceded in death by husbands Alan Christiansen, and Jim Enghusen, sister Betty Larsen, and beloved aunt, Ellen Murray. By far her greatest earthly treasures were her family: husband Joe, and his children Greg (Diane) Streby and Sheryl (Al) Himmelstoss, daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Crosby, Kathy Roseth, and sons, John (Roberta) Christiansen and Jim (Susie) Houk, grandchildren, Miijalisa Viele, Seth Christiansen, Taiahla Gregory, Jorn Christiansen, James and John Crosby, Elisabeth Graves, Andrew and Amy Roseth; Great-grandchildren Brandi, Jacob, Logan, Keaton, Vaughn, Liam, Avery, Zara and Piper; and great-great granddaughter Layla. Nancy's gracious spirit will be deeply missed by family and friends, but her love of the Lord and zest for life will always remind us of what is truly important. The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Lakeshore Ecumen, especially Theresa and Lisa, for their exceptional care. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m., July 28, at the Family of God Lutheran Church.
