KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kiele Miller allowed only one hit in the circle and Jayci Foster delivered a game-winning RBI double during the bottom of the sixth inning as the Creighton softball team downed South Dakota State 1-0 on Sunday at the Kansas City Urban Youth Academy.

The Bluejays improved to 9-9, while the Jackrabbits fell to 20-7. 

Creighton's offense combined for five hits on Sunday, including a pair of extra-base hits in the sixth for the lone run. After a pair of outs, Mikaela Pechar tripled down the right-field line for her first career triple and Foster delivered with a double to right-center to drive in Pechar and give Creighton a 1-0 edge. 

South Dakota State led off the top of the seventh with a walk before Miller sat down the next three she faced, including her ninth strikeout to end the game.

Miller needed only 98 pitches for third complete game and fourth victory of the season. The Dripping Springs, Texas native opened Sunday's contest by retiring the entire South Dakota State lineup in order. She ended the first and second innings with strikeouts and induced a pop up to second base for the final out of the third.

The Jackrabbits punched into the hit column during the fourth as SDSU's lead-off hitter laced a single up the middle. After allowing her first base runner, Miller responded with three consecutive strikeouts to end the fourth. The sophomore continued to control in the circle and retired six of the next seven she faced, while working around a two-out walk in the sixth.

Miller ended Sunday with nine strikeouts and moved her season strikeout total to an even 50 during 36.1 innings of work. 

Sydney Jenkins walked during the Bluejays' second at-bat in the first inning and Creighton tallied singles during the first, third and fourth innings but managed only two runners in scoring position through the first five innings.

Neither team advanced a runner past second base before Pechar's triple in the bottom of the sixth. 

Foster paced the Creighton offense by going 2-for-3 with her double and the game's lone RBI, while Pechar, Mileah McKelvy and Ashley Cantu each posted one hit a piece. 

The Bluejays' defense did not commit an error during Sunday's game which took only one hour and 35 minutes to complete. 

Creighton is scheduled to play UNO on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Westside Field at Westbrook in Omaha.
